As my brats wih mobile phones gripe has already been stated I'd like to put another gripe... Widescreen TVs ...in the wrong aspect ratio. In shops, pubs, wherever you go and with broadcasters in archive shows, widescreen TVs are almost always set in the wrong aspect ratio for old 4:3 material, either the picture is blown up to fill the entire screen, lopping off the top and bottom of the screen or worse, stretching the picture to fill the screen so the striker bearing down on goal looks about 23 stone and is about to kick a rugby ball into a 40ft wide goal, unless he falls over whereupon he suddenly loses half his weight and suddenly becomes 8ft tall! I'm at the point where if I'm in a shop where the remote is next to the TV, I'll change the settings, it bugs me that much! |
