Freeview on the Sony Playstation 3

Posted on 25 August 200825 August 2008 By FrequencyCast 1 Comment on Freeview on the Sony Playstation 3

Sony PS3 PlayTVFreeview’s coming to the Playstation 3 from the 19th of September. For £70, you can buy PlayTV, which supports Freeview, has a 7 day EPG, and turns your PS3 into a digital recorder.

You can use the PlayTV box to export TV content easily from the PS3 HDD to the Sony PSP, so you can watch telly on the go. You can channel surf with PlayTV using your BD remote or your Sixaxis.

The PlayTV box is available to pre-order now for £70 (press P&P) at Play.com

I need this device for my planned home cinema/TV setup including a Sony surround sound system and a PS3 to play BluRay discs. There’s a rumour that the 80GB PS3 will be replaced shortly by a 120GB or 160GB PS3. Have you heard any news regarding this PS3 change? Should I sit on my order for a while? Will the 80GB be cheaper if this happens?
