Top Up TV Anytime boxes slip

Posted on 27 October 200628 July 2011 By FrequencyCast 8 Comments on Top Up TV Anytime boxes slip

Originally meant for release in early October 2006, the FrequencyCast team has learnt that the Top Up TV Anytime digital boxes have slipped by another couple of months.

There’s a prerecorded message on Top Up TV’s number, 08700 543210, stating the following:

“Boxes will start to be dispatched towards end of November, with delivery completed by early-to-mid December. Orders placed before 31st October will be received before Christmas” (2006?)

If you’re having second thoughts, and wish to cancel, call 08712 712 712. You may want to consider going elsewhere for your digital telly.

As a long time customer i am disapointed that we wern’t informed about the delay either by phone, e-mail or letter, however you are very quick to take our deposits, and when i put the order was reasuured i would have it by the end of October. However you are now saying Nov/ Dec but in the next sentence you are saying you hopefully should have it by Christmas, now from personal experince it you dont have it a good week before Christmas, what you are really saying it will be January by time Christmas and New Year have passed. Is Sky who you are going into compution with haaving the same problem??????
Once again i feel you information should be more precise, or inforation given to us earlier, I am thinking about taking my busniness esle where, depending on you response.

in my opinion if the boxes are going to be this late and you have took most of the channels off the old service, can you tell me why are we paying £7.99 a month for a full service that your not providing.

All I can say is that TopUpTv’s “Customer Service” (I use the term loosely) are awful. They have given me 3 different delivery promises all of which have come and gone. When you ring to complain they are just plain rude and quote “well you can always cancel”. Truly unsympathetic and if its a taste of whats to come I dread to think. The MD of the company should take note that he has many many disappointed customers even before this service launches. I urge to to email BBC Watchdog with your complaint. The more that complain the better case we have.

I have been waiting since 18th December for a returns label to send my top up tv box back (under their seven day rule), they have agreed I can return the box for my 99 pound refund but despite 7 phonecalls and many lies by their operators I am still waiting. You can never speak to a manager only first names. After doing my own research I have found out Top up TV’s customer service is outsourced to a company called MGT Limited, based at Cluny Court, Chapelton Drive, Kirkcaldy, Fife KY2 6QJ, All top up TV’s PO Boxes primarily PO Box 801, Kirkcaldy KY1 3WD all come to this address (for info also PO Box 2003 and PO Box 670 come here as well. MGT’s website boast excellent customer service for its clients which is simply not the case. I was told no less than 6 time that a returns label has been despatched to me, only to find them admit that it had not been sent, I have now been promised it this week but I dont hold my breath. If all else fails I live around 100 miles from Top up TV’s registered office which is Top Up TV, Riverside House, 20 Old Bridge Street, Hampton Wick, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 4BU – the only phone numbers I can obtain go through to MGT in Scotland, if it comes to it as a last resort I will put the box ion my boot drive down there and deliver the box to top up tv in Kingston and demand a refund and not leave until I have. Maybe they will kick someone into gear at MGT. As the people at MGT are not employed by top up TV they basically dont give a damn. Any companies considering using MGT I would strongly advise them Dont unless you want your customers to receive the poorest customer service possible. I will keep you updated as to if my label is received and also when I get my refund.

EVEN WHEN YOU DO GET A RETURNS SLIP YOU WILL FIND THE pOST oFFICE WILL REFUSE TO HANDLE THE PARCEL FOR DELIVERY AS THE ADDRESS DOES NOT EXIST!!!

aN ALTERNATIVE ADDRESS OBTAINED AT LENGTH FROM TUTY CUSTOMER SERVICES IS ALSO NOT TRACEABLE BY THE POST OFFICE AND WAS REGECTED.

we have had the new digital tutv box since february, since it was installed we have had a total of 3 days viewing. after several phone call and lies from them (managers refuse to talk to you) we are still no further on to getting our refund. what they dont seem to understand is we bought a brand new tv with built in freeview and that works perfectly we also had a new ariel fitted and they still insist its our problem and not theirs. they even blamed winter hill at 1 point!! how stupid. my advice to anyone who is thinking of getting it DONT BOTHER!!!stay well clear it not worth the hassle.
