Xmas Gadget Time:

Here;s a transcript of our look ahead to GSL Xmax 2013:

Transcript continues from Woeld Solar Challenge 2013

Pete:

That's October, and in November, Kelly, we're out and about. Where are we?

Kelly:

We're going back to Gadget Show Live London.

Pete:

Gadget Show Live Xmas LogoThe 1st, 2nd and 3rd of November, there are still tickets, but they are selling out fast. Gadget Show Live London, definitely worth a trip, and we will be there. And of course, we were in Gadget Show in Birmingham earlier this year, and you loved some of those gadgets and spy accessories and things, didn't you?

Kelly:

No, I didn't. Well, I did – they're interesting, but it worries me. It just really worries me that those things are out there.

Pete:

There is a table full of every possible James Bond spy gadget you could want, and what do you think of these lovely-looking watches?

Kelly:

They don't look too bad. They look like your standard watch.

Pete:

Would you be amazed to realise that these are all recorders, with cameras and audio recorders?

Kelly:

I would, and again, it scares me quite a lot.

Kelly with MI6 Spy Gadgets!

Pete:

So, what have we got here then, Kelly?

Kelly:

So we've got a smoke alarm, there's a lighter, car keys, there's clock alarms.

Pete:

Would you be surprised to know that all of these contain either a hidden voice recorder or a hidden camera?

Kelly:

I would be very, very surprised, but judging by where we are, not so surprised.

Pete:

So the beauty of this is, you can plant all sorts of bugs in your house to keep tracks on people. Over here is where it starts getting really, really scary though, because we've got these little trackers. They take a GSM sim card, and then from home you can ring the sim in that, and switch on the microphone.

Kelly:

You see, this concerns me, because I know what you're like with me anyway.

Pete:

You've given me an idea now!

Kelly with MI6 Spy Gadgets!

Kelly:

No, I really shouldn't have! But you're telling me that this wouldn't happen! People are really going to abuse this!

Pete:

We're talking to Alex – hello there, Alex.

Alex: Hi there, hi everyone.

Pete:

An amazing range of products here, mostly for covert surveillance. Is it as dodgy as it sounds? – convince us it's not.

Alex: Well, to be quite honest, it's like a knife. You can buy it and chop onions, or you can go and stab people with it. It's entirely up to you. We've got clocks with a hidden camera. They use it for monitoring their kids, babysitters; elderly people with disabilities. People are worried, everybody's worried, with the carers – are they going to do their jobs right? You use devices like this, and that's how you find out if they are really good or not.

Pete:

I'm assuming you've got a website where all of this stuff's on display?

Alex: Yes, we have got a website, called www.Mi6.co - not co.uk, just co.

Kelly with MI6 Spy Gadgets!

Pete:

I'm assuming co.uk gets you a different MI6, does it?

Alex: Oh well, yeah – we don't want to go through that now.

Pete:

So there you go – Gadget Show Live, 1st, 2nd and 3rd November, the place to find all the tech, this time in London, and we'll be there.

Kelly:

Look forward to seeing you there.

Kelly and Pete at last year's show...
